

Jim was born on January 22, 1930 to the late James Ira Ellis and Helen Louise Clayton. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Malinda Bowles Mills and his second wife, Patricia Warren Ellis and his sisters Ruth Givler and Eula Coffman.
He is survived by his three children, Marianne Allen, Christopher Ellis, and Susan Ellis. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren, Holly Fick (Ryan) and Amy Price (Grant) and his great grandchildren, Annabelle Price, Mason Fick, Caleb Price, and Grace Fick. Jim also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, a cousin, and many friends. The family wishes to express their appreciation to their father's caregiver, Sherrie Francisco.
Jim retired from Reynolds Metals and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling around the country, watching sports, and working on jigsaw puzzles. His passion was woodworking and he created many amazing pens, bowls, and ornaments.
The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday March 4, 4pm to 6pm at Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Road. Private graveside services will be held Wednesday March 5, 2025, followed by a memorial service at Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Road at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Richmond Christian Fellowship.
