

He was predeceased by his parents, James Randolph “Red” and Margaret Frick Adams; his brother, Wayne Adams; and brother-in-law, Robert Hunter.
He is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Faye; his beloved children, Scott (Charles White) and Carl (Erin); his cherished grandkids, Ella and Brady Adams; his brother, David Adams and Sister Cynthia Shoenfelt; and his sisters-in-law, Kay Adams (Bonnie Holder) and Jean Hunter; numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great grandnieces and nephews.
Jim was born on April 30, 1944 and grew up in Salisbury and Spencer, NC. He graduated from North Rowan High School in 1962. Jim was a Veteran and retiree of the United States Navy. He was a hospital corpsman stationed in Jacksonville, FL where he met his wife Faye, also on active duty. He retired from a 30-year career of committed government service at the Defense General Supply Center in Richmond, VA.
Jim loved his family, cooking Chinese entrees, watching sports and coaching his kids, playing bridge and golf, the Dallas Cowboys, crossword puzzles and some good North Carolina BBQ and a great steak dinner.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29 from 6-8pm at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. in Midlothian. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Friday, January 26 at Amelia National Cemetery, 10300 Pridesville Rd., Amelia Courthouse VA 23002.
