Adamik, Joseph Stanley Jr, 71, of Midlothian, died Monday, June 5th, 2017 after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. He joins his wife of 42 years, Gail, who passed away in 2012, as well as his mother Marion and father, Joe Sr. , and his 4 rescue dogs Bear, Misty, Sunshine and Nelly. Very much missing him are his son Michael Adamik and his wife Kim Ball of Midlothian, his grandchildren Megan, Maddie, Eliza and Ryan, his sister Linda Southen and her life partner Helmut Knorr, his sister in law Mary Lou Jenkins, his brother in law Edward Jenkins and his wife Suzanne, and their children Richard, Kristine, and Ashley, and of course his faithful dog Dash.
After graduating from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, he went on to earn his MBA from the University of Massachusetts. From there, he joined Inflico Degremont as a Civil Engineer and he would spend his career with that same company. While he enjoyed his job, he was most proud of the database he built for an orphanage in Africa to help them manage their finances. Above all else, he enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in their activities and fishing in his neighborhood lake.
Family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Monday, June 12th at the Huguenot Chapel , Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to FURS (Friend United with the Richmond Shelter) at www.fursdogs.com.
