

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. — Karme (Cappelletti) Neeson, a Manhattan, N.Y., resident, passed away peacefully with her sister by her side on Sept. 11, 2014, at Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond, Va. She was the wife of the late Fred Neeson.
Born in Waterbury on Sept. 9, 1939, Karme was the daughter of the late Ralph Cappelletti and Rose Cappelletti of Midlothian, Va. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Karme was a gifted freelance writer equally at home writing magazine articles as composing a thoughtful literary piece or venturing into the world of fiction. She was a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a degree in English and a minor in journalism, an avid reader and student of history, who loved the voice of poetry. She spent her final years in Manhattan where she enjoyed the bustling energy and cultural ambience that frequently brought her to its museums, plays and bookshops.
Karme was a sparkling conversationalist whose comments and opinions reflected her notable intelligence as well as a lively sense of humor. Her mind teemed with ideas and opinions on everything from world politics to the literary scene. Hers is the legacy of a versatile talent whose life and spirit has left an indelible memory with those who knew her.
Karme was survived by her mother, Rose Cappelletti of Midlothian, Va.; a brother, Michael Cappelletti and his wife, Julie, of Waterbury; a sister, Rosanne McGrath of Midlothian, Va.; a nephew, Mark Cappelletti of Waterbury; a niece, Michelle Correia and her husband, Manny, of W. Haven; a nephew, Francis McGrath of Waterbury; a niece, Sue Allen and her husband, Dan, of Midlothian, Va.; and several great nieces and nephews.
Woody Funeral Home in Midlothian, Va., is entrusted with all arrangements which are private and at the convenience of the family.
