BALZ, Mabel Frances Childress, 83, of Powhatan, passed away September 14, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Acree and Emma Childress. She is survived by her husband, Edward A. Balz Jr.; two children, Edward A. Balz III and William H. Balz; and one brother, Lester K. ( Carol)Childress of New Canton, Va. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Fork Union Cemetery.
