Nancy Ellen Phipps of South Hill, VA passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025 with her daughters by her side. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Pauline Reams, her siblings, James Reams and Carol (Ed) Koogler, all of Lima, OH. She is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Daniel Phipps. They enjoyed working in the yard, taking care of all the woodland creatures that came to visit, and in their younger years they liked to do some traveling and visiting family.
Her two daughters, Michelle Pearson of WI and Julie (Gary) Noya of VA already miss her greatly. She had two step-sons, Chris (Robin) and Jimmy Phipps of NC. She had 6 grandchildren, Christopher (Lisa) Noya, Dylan (Jessica) Noya-Roy, Jessica Luckman, Courtney Noya, Kamery Phipps, and Elijah Pearson. She was predeceased by grandson, Nicholas Pearson. She had 6 great grandchildren, a great-grand-cat, and numerous nieces. She loved her family greatly and without exception. Her long-time pet companion was her pup, Snoop. Many years after Snoop passed, she adopted a cat, Micah, also known as Trouble. He wasn’t always gentle, but she loved him anyway.
She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of South Hill where she provided monthly calendars with anniversary and birthdates of members. She made cards and sent them to church members, family, and friends. She participated in Bible studies, Sunday School, even teaching the young people for a while. She was a devoted Christian who read her devotions every morning and treated others with great kindness and generosity.
She was part of a Fuchs Corneal Dystrophy support group after having double corneal transplants. Because of this gift of sight from two individuals, she also became a donor when she passed. We all know that this would have brought her great joy.
To all her family and friends, this sudden loss is hard to comprehend. We all thought we had many more years of life and adventures to share together. She will forever be missed. Nancy will be laid to rest at a later date next to her parents in Ohio.
