Naomi Morrison Moore, 80, passed away on June 28, 2018, at her home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Bruce Macon Moore, Jr., her parents and her siblings. She is survived by her son, Bruce Macon Moore, III; her daughter, Sarah Moore Saunders and her husband, Jeffrey; two cherished grandchildren, Ian James and Evelyn Ruth Saunders; and nieces Deborah T. Schieber, Joan Carol Hall, Donna F. Berger, Vicki E. Omohundro, and Jamie F. Glendenning.
Naomi was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on November 1, 1937, and moved to Richmond as a young girl. She was a graduate of John Marshall High School and Stuart Circle School of Nursing. Her life’s passion and her profession were caring for others, and she loved working as a nurse at Stuart Circle Hospital and several local doctors’ offices. Her greatest joy was hosting family and friends; she always ensured the number of dishes on her holiday table exceeded the number of guests.
Naomi and her husband Bruce owned James River Brass Shoppes here in Richmond. For almost 50 years, Naomi was a faithful member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, where she served in many roles.
