SCHULTZ, Norman E., of Richmond, passed away on May 1, 2016, just short of his 100th birthday. Born in Washington, D.C., he graduated in 1938 from Oklahoma University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. After starting his first job with the Oklahoma Highway Department, he married Geneva Jueschke who would be his wife for 66 years. In World War II, he served as an Ordinance Officer, stationed in Italy and Geneva, New York. After the war, he sold structural steel in Baltimore for 48 years. When he retired from Schultz and Chandler at age 65, Norman and Geneva sold their Baltimore home and their boat on the Chesapeake Bay and moved to Richmond. Norman’s talents included his amazing knowledge of how things work and his ability to fix most anything with ordinary, often discarded, materials. He was happiest in his basement shop making a jig for his latest invention. He is survived by his son, Stephen Schultz of Winston-Salem; and daughter, Anne Repp of Richmond; five grandchildren, David Schultz, Sarah VanVeen (Andy), Kim Repp (Guillermo Manuel), Allen Repp (Amanda) and Charles Repp; and two great-grandchildren, Liam and Fiona Repp. A funeral liturgy will be held 3:30 p.m. Friday at Church of the Epiphany, 11000 Smoketree Drive. Interment will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Church of the Epiphany or any charity of your choice. Online condolences to WoodyFuneralHome.com.
