

PAVICK, Patricia “Patty” Ann, 72, of N. Chesterfield, Va. 23236, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at the CJW Johnston-Willis Hospital. The cause of death was attributed to a severe stroke. Patty was born on October 7, 1943 in Ellwood City, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stephen F. Gorzkowski of Ellwood City, Pa. As a young child she lived directly across the street from the school she attended. In summers, at the school’s playground, she participated in many activities. Her favorite was crafts. She was very talented at making just about anything. She even won a trash can painting contest.
On August 3, 1963, she married Dennis M. Pavick, of Ellwood City, Pa. They were childhood sweethearts. With a week short of their 53rd wedding anniversary, they had been sweethearts for almost 59 years. Patty was a graduate of Lincoln High School in her hometown of Ellwood City, Pa. Up until the birth of their first child, Patty worked for a financial services firm. Later in life, after her children were grown, she worked for a decorating company. She also had her own decorating business for several years. During her lifetime, she lived in the Pittsburgh, Pa. area, Lancaster, Pa., Cape Coral, Fla., Virginia Beach, Va. and Richmond, Va. During her younger years, she loved to go horseback riding. Also, her husband coaxed her into playing golf. Being always a competitive gal, Patty beat her husband, much to his embarrassment.
Patty is survived by her husband, Dennis M. Pavick, of Chesterfield, Va., son, David M. Pavick (Robin) of Crewe, Va. and daughter, Kristin L. (William) Campbell of Midlothian, Va. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Nicholas Cassidy of Auburn, Ala., Patrick Holman of Farmville, Va., Haley Campbell of Midlothian, Va., Blaire Holman of Crewe, Va., Timothy Campbell of Midlothian, Va. and Trevor Campbell of Midlothian, Va.; her sister, Kathy (Eugene) Morrison of Beaver Falls, Pa., sister-in-law, Karen (Jim) Butcher of Florence, Ma., Stephen (Grace) Pavick of Ellwood City, Pa., along with her son-in-law, Scott Cassidy MD of Jackson’s Gap, Ala.; several nieces and nephews also survive her. She was predeceased by her daughter, Melinda Cassidy; her granddaughter; Caroline Cassidy; and brother Stephen Gorzkowski.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel- Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., Midlothian, Va. 23113, on Sunday, July 31, 2016. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave., Richmond, Va.
