

Paul Elwood “Woody” Bergh, Jr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Elwood Bergh, Sr. and Sarah Smith Bergh, as well as his wife, Sandra Clampitt Bergh. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Ann Bergh; his sister Pam (Steve) Owen and his best pal, Grayson.
Woody was born on November 7, 1942 in Richmond, Virginia, where he attended James Madison High School, proudly serving in the U.S. Army, and spent his entire career at Dupont Fibers. He enjoyed collecting and selling antiques with his wife Sandra and travelling the world, visiting 70 destinations. Woody was an avid horse racing fan, attending the Kentucky Derby many times.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 on Monday, April 13th, 2026 at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Midlothian, VA 23113. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Pilots Lane, Richmond, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
The family would like to thank all those who supported Woody through his journey, including caregivers from Richmond, Virginia to Rochester, New York. His care in his final days at Highland Hospital is especially appreciated.
