AUX SOINS DE
Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel
Richard Edmund Clayton, RN died suddenly on Wednesday, May 1 2019. Son of the late Sharon Pappas and Morris Cohen of Passaic NJ, Richard lived in various states of the US with New Jersey, Georgia, and Virginia being his preferences. He is survived by his daughter Wendy Clayton of Chicago and his Son John (Jack) Clayton of Richmond.
He was a graduate of William Paterson University and John Tyler Community College and also studied at Life Chiropractic College. Richard was a successful and quick thinking Registered Nurse, after having worked for various hospitals, correctional facilities, long term care facilities and even had a stint as a Travel Nurse going where the medical need took him.
A staunch Libertarian, Richard loved weapons and constitutionally set forth gun rights, comedy and humor via one-liners, Vietnam war films, hiking and camping, and, endearingly, Disney World in Orlando. He was committed to his three children, which were his greatest joy in life.
Funeral services will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, May 18 at Woody’s Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel 1020 Huguenot Rd, Midlothian, VA 23113. His ashes will be divided and dispersed between Mile Post 75 on the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Atlantic Ocean across from where he lived in Virginia Beach. The remainder will be buried in his previously established resting space with his late son Richard Edward Clayton at Dale Memorial Park, which is located within Pocahontas State Park, a location greatly loved by Richard.
