

HUGO, Roland James, age 82, of Powhatan, Virginia passed away peacefully Sunday morning, November 13, 2011 after a long illness. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roland Victor Hugo and Edith Wilma Hugo of Norfolk, Virginia as well as by his oldest son Clayton D. Hugo (Doris) who passed away in February of this year. He is survived by his loving, dedicated wife of 63 years, Angeline J. Hugo and son Raymond M. Hugo (Diane) of Powhatan. He is also survived by grandchildren, Nathan Hugo, RJ Hugo, Janelle Hugo McMullin, Krista Hugo Broker, Benjamin Hugo, Sarah Hugo, Brandon Hugo, Rebecca Hugo Brennan and Jessica Hugo Irick; as well as great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Amber Leigh and Jameson Broker, Charlotte Hugo, Sadie Hugo, Jeremiah and Jaylah Hugo, Ellianna McMullin, and Chase Hugo.
Mr. Hugo was employed by VEPCO/Dominion for 42 years before retiring in 1989 as Director of Operations in Fredericksburg, Virginia. After retiring from Dominion, he worked for Rappahannock Electric Cooperative for six years as the Engineering and Operations Project Supervisor. He then moved to his beloved Powhatan, Virginia home.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road in Midlothian, Virginia, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1957 Capeway Road in Powhatan, Virginia. Entombment will then take place at Dale Memorial Park located at 10201 Newbys Bridge Road in Chesterfield, Virginia. Condolences may be offered at woodyfuneralhomehuguenot.com.
