Sherri graduated from the University of Georgia and began her teaching career in Chesterfield County. She then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and continued teaching for many years. She had recently returned to Chesterfield County to share her love of reading as a middle school reading specialist. Sherri finished her career at Tomahawk Creek Middle School, where both of her sisters worked. Her sisters were happy to share her with their Tomahawk Creek family. All of her students loved her, and she loved them back.
Sherri, Chris, and Olivia moved back to Richmond to be with family in 2021. We were so blessed to have had many years with Sherri back in Richmond, and we loved, laughed, and cherished our family time together.
Sherri was our beloved drama queen. She never met a stranger, and she left love and friends behind wherever she went. All who crossed her path were blessed with joy and friendship.
Sherri’s family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Thursday, May 1, at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Midlothian, VA 23113. A private memorial service will be held.
Donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Sherri’s memory.
