She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hazel Isgett, of Winston-Salem, NC. She is survived by her husband, David McLean; daughter, Missy Mullins (Sandy) of Heathsville, VA; daughter, Caroline Holtzman (Drew) and their children, Chas and Miley, of Midlothian, VA; and her sister, Elaine Pace, of Winston-Salem, NC.
Sonja graduated from Pfeiffer University in 1963, with a degree in elementary education. She taught first grade at Lewisville Elementary School for three years before moving to Richmond, where she taught in local private schools for over fifteen years. She loved playing Bridge with the ladies of the neighborhood, reading, sewing and cross stitch, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-6pm on Saturday, July 23, at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel.
