Susan Walston Pitt, age 97, passed away February 6, 2026. She is survived by her nieces Pamela Hodges, Lee Colgate (Tom), Robin Mamunes (Peter) and their families.
Susan was born February 24, 1928, in Tarboro, NC. She made her home in Fayetteville, NC for over 40 years. She spent the last ten months in Chesterfield County, VA to be near family.
Her 35-year career with the Department of Army in recreation services afforded her the opportunity to travel the world and live in wonderful places with France being her favorite.
She loved bringing friends together and hosting parties. She enjoyed family beach trips, watching sports and laughing at good jokes. She was full of wisdom but still young at heart. At 97 she experienced 17 presidents and an ever-changing world and always kept her sense of humor.
We are going to miss you, Suesue.
A Committal Service will be held in Greenwood Cemetery ,Tarboro N C on Wednesday February 18 at 12:00 pm.
