

He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 28, 1935 to Harry Taylor Fitzhugh and Margaret Gertrude Whitman Fitzhugh. He is a graduate of Milford Mill High School 1953 In Baltimore County after attending Baltimore Polytechnic Institute for three years. He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University in 1961. He served in the Marine Corp 1953 – 1957 active duty as Staff Sergeant.
He married Joan Kane Fitzhugh 1958. They are the parents of three children: Amy, Laura, and Shannon (Debra); and 5 grandchildren: Samantha, Alexandra, Sheridan (Austen), Austin (Sara) and Trevor; and 3 great grandchildren, Everett, Eleanor and Henry. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Washington D.C. Temple. Joan passed away in May of 2000. Thomas later married Bonnie Zabriskie in 2004 and became the stepfather of Roberta (Leo), Julie, Karyn (Jon) and Russell (Rosalie); and seven step-grandchildren: Bryan (Michellene) Mikesell, Ashley, Jessica, and Jacob Hardy, Macaile Hutt, Danielle, and Morgan Lail; and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Will (Elaine) Fitzhugh; brothers-in-law, Don Barrett, Robert Anderson, Howard Kramer (Pat) and Herbert Kane (Lila); sisters-in-law, Phyllis Smith, Dorothy Anderson, Beth Lucas and Shirley Mastan; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; parents; brothers Harry and James Fitzhugh; sister, Lois Farr; brothers-in-law, Ludd Farr and Peter Mastan; sisters-in-law, Bertha Fitzhugh, and Alvonia Fitzhugh.
Thomas was self-employed as an industrial equipment dealer 1968 - 2001. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints and served in many callings including ordinance worker in three different temples and served two missions with his church.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 23, from 6-8pm at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, August 24 in the Woody Chapel. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park.
