William “Kenneth” Irvin, born June 20, 1926 in Wytheville passed away peacefully on March 11 in Richmond. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Aileen Mcallister Irvin; his brothers and sisters, Cecil, Clay, George, Guido, Henry, Hugh, Odell, Lena, Della, Carrie and Blanche. Kenneth was the son of Conley and Ollie Irvin of Wytheville.
He is survived by his daughter Brenda Gail Tuck and her husband Joe; grandson Lance C. Pittman and his wife Allyson; grandson Brent T. Pittman and his wife Alicia; great grandchildren Berkley, Henry, Lillie, and Riley Pittman and Noah Tressler and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kenneth joined the Army in 1944 and served in the Asian Pacific Theater until 1946. He remained active in the VFW and the American Legion and served in the Veteran’s Honor Guard.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, from 5-7 pm, at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, Richmond, VA. Funeral Services will be held at noon on Saturday, March 15, at Williamsburg Memorial Park, 130 King William Drive, Williamsburg, VA.
