

Longtime Shawnee resident, Fritz Anderson, passed away at his home on March 23, 2016 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born August 14, 1928 in Shawnee, the son of Bror and Lillie Anderson and is survived by his twin sister, Betty Woody of Shawnee. Fritz was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose Marie (Moses) Anderson. They were married December 31, 1950 until her passing in 2010. Fritz is also survived by his daughter, Valerie Anderson; son, Larry Anderson, Larry’s daughters, Delilah Ayers, her husband Jody and their sons Zac and Declan, and Rhianna Anderson and her daughter Jenna Hayes; son Burke Anderson and his wife Mary, their son Brett Anderson and their daughter, Lindsey Miller, her husband Doug and their daughter Audrey Rose Miller. Fritz was a 1946 Shawnee High School graduate and served in the Army in Japan immediately after World War II. After the Army, he gained employment at Tinker Air Force Base where he retired in 1976 after 27 years of service. Fritz was an avid supporter of Shawnee High School Alumni activities and served as a curator of the SHS Alumni Museum. Fritz enjoyed a special relationship with the Shawnee Fire Department and spent many years developing a close relationship to the Fire Fighters serving the community. He made many friends and treasured the support and friendship of the department. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Aspire Hospice for their love and support during Fritz’s illness.
