John Roy Dunaway

John R. Dunaway, 88, of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014. He was born January 9, 1926 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Roy and Inez (Ingram) Dunaway. John was a longtime football coach in the Oklahoma City area. He started his coaching career at Barnes Elementary in Midwest City before moving on to coach at Harding, Shawnee, Classen, and Northeast before finishing his coaching career at Midwest City. John then went into administration in the Mid-Del school system. He served in this capacity at Monroney Jr. High and Carl Albert Jr. High. John loved playing golf and morning coffee with friends. He was also a lover of movies and TV shows by the BBC. His humor and wit will be sorely missed. John is survived by his only child John II and his wife Kay and grandchildren; John III, Deyron and Chelsea. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bobby and his loving wife, Virginia.
