I tried to submit a entry but it disappear so if you didn't get it here it is again. Ill try to do it right this time. We have a lot of great memories of Rob and the Clabaugh's. Rob is my best friend's husband so that makes him my best friend too. Our families mesh together like best friends do. Cookouts, ball games, dinners, game nights, camping and just everyday living even garage sales. I can look back at times and it brings a smile to my face or even a laugh thinking back; like when we were on the river and Joyce and Rob were going in circles in their canoe, I think it was Rob's first time. LOL!  Remembering game night with Glen and Jamie when we were playing the game "signs" where we had to make a gesture and everyone had to copy it. Rob's sign was picking his nose but he actually pulled one out!LOL! But what will always come to my mind first is Rob's singing, he could have a song in his head and sing it like the beatles or bruce or whomever in a split second he would be singing. He was pretty good at it too. So Ally and Amanda when you got guitar hero I think it was really for your dad. He loved rock n roll. I think he's up there singing his favorites now. My memories of Rob are many. Some that you just sit back and enjoy and some that make you laugh till you cry. From the first time I met him till the last time we talked I cherished the time we had together.  Rob was a man of honor. He always tried to do what was right in a humble, sometimes quiet, sometimes not so quiet way.  He is firm in his convictions and stood by what he believed.  I remember the times we talked about our walk with The Lord and the times we talked on the phone and prayed together fighting the ole devil. I remember one of the last conservations Rob and I had.  He said "you know Darrell, if I get to stay around I win, but if I don't get to stay I win too".  I remember the times we spent together at Flint Ridge on the river.  One time in particular we had enjoyed the coolness of the season and the changing colors of the trees.  Rob and Joyce had brought their dog, and for the life of me I can't remember his name, maybe Bubba a Chow, anyway on the way back home we stopped in Locust Grove, Okla. I think because we saw some firewood for sale. We got out and so did their dog.  3 hours later here come Rob with the dog in his arms all smiles and never a cross word. That is how I will always remember My Brother Rob Doyle, Never a cross word and a Smile on his face. I Love You Rob!!!

I'm not sure there is enough space here to express my feelings for my beloved Uncle Robby. We have had a special connection as far back as I can remember. My favorite memories are the sleepovers at him and Joycie's house, the way he always called me "Sugar," going to his house and knowing the freezer would be stocked full of ice cream, playing in the back of his grey and red trucks, him cooking for us, and the way he always busted out in to a rock song. I miss most his big hugs, him rocking his SFA t-shirt when I was around (he asked me to buy him one), his tough guy attitude (we all knew he was a softie on the inside), his Jersey boy slang, our texts over what flavor of ice cream we should have that night, and the way I never went one visit with him without him telling me the story of "our date to McDonalds." I absolutely adored him, and I miss him every single day.

I'm so thankful the plans the Lord had for us was TOGETHER the past 29 years!  You have been my helpmate, my companion and friend.  You loved me and I loved you.  The grace of God has given us patience and love that carried us through every trial and adventure.

Oh my Uncle Robby, my annoying older brother and my all time favorite uncle. I have the fondest memories of you. Tickling me until I turn blue and threatening all boys who came within five inches of me. One time my friend came over to pick me up at grandmas. He was decked out in his cowboy hat, boots and big buckle. Uncle Robby answered the door and said what do you want and he said Ashley?? Uncle Robby said your not picking up my niece in that getup.  at the time I was mortified. Now I laugh and smile. I never wanted to share my food with Robby cause if he wanted a bite he would take one bite and your food would be gone. If I ask my son for a bite of anything now he says don't take a Uncle Robby bite. He passed his love of ice cream down to me and I have passed it down to my boys. He was a great man, husband, dad, brother and uncle.  He is greatly missed and loved. I know he's up there with grandma and poppa causing trouble.

Growing up we Wagners had two sets of cousins; the Doyles in New Jersey and the Gibsons in Virginia. As kids in the summer we enjoyed extended visits from those far off locales but I was delighted when the Doyles moved to Oklahoma City in the 70s because now we had cousins living in the same town! I remember going over to the Kelly House on 15th street to watch (not to help) everyone unload the moving van. I saw Robby carrying in hockey sticks and skates and thought What does he think he's going to do with those in Oklahoma City? 

I left Oklahoma City in 1988 but each time I was in town I made time to see Robby normally stopping in for a visit at the lumber yard. Before going on the Kansas, Oklahoma float trip in July 2015, the last three times I saw him were unfortunately at funerals. I am grateful that we all had the chance to have that one last fun visit.

Your Favorite Female Cousin

I have to say the best memories of Uncle Rob is all the trips to the river.  From me taking a ball peen hammer to his fender, MacGyver and the 3 idiots, to an ill faded trip when it did nothing but rain on us, and to this last trip cause we all know it was one of his favorite things to do with it big crazy family. Even when mom couldn't go he always made sure to include us as if we were his own.

We didn't always get along, my dad and I, but he was always there when you needed him most.  We shared the same humor and liked the same music.  Anytime I hear Bruce Springsteen or Tom Petty he finds his way into my thoughts. We especially enjoyed picking on my mom and rolling our eyes to one another when she became too neurotic on how the house looked.  When I was studying abroad I became very homesick and I knew he was just a phone call away, telling me, "Don't worry about it!" in his Jersey accent.

I never thought I'd miss that thick, Jersey accent, threatening my and my sister's ex-boyfriends with his Godfather expressions; telling them he knew people to take care of them.  Or how grumpy he would be during a family vacation, then act like he had the time of his life once we were back.  Or, even, how he would burst out some Rock and Roll song, shaking the whole house with his voice.  But that's who he was: a die-hard Yankee fan, a great friend, and a loving father and husband.

I remember so many things about Robby, his love of family, music and sports. I miss our talks about who was the best college football team. He was a great help to Kaitlin when she was taking a sports media course in high school. They formed a special bond.

Sad heart, saying Goodbye to a friend of 20 years.  Rob worked with our boys in AWANA,  he cooked many yummy dishes for our Sunday School class parties, he built the kitchen cabinets in the first house we bought (I even made him autograph the inside of one of them.)  These were some of the last cabinets he built in his own company.  We shared many belly aching laughs with him.  He loved his whole family, all of them and he LOVED his wife, Joyce, and girls, Amanda and Ally so much! He was always prepared to chase off  any guy that might hurt them.  Cancer Stinks!  But God gifted his family and him with a couple of really good months, free from the tough stuff of life and now God has freed his body from pain.  You will be missed, Rob!

Dear Joyce;
I'm so sorry to hear of Robby's passing.  Dianna called Friday morning and told about it.  She was happy to have made the trip out there the week before.  
I'm so glad Kathy and I got to spend some time with Robby, Allyson and you (along with John and Shirley)even if for just an afternoon and evening in July.  I'm sending you this photo that Kathy took that night.  Her thought was that "of the three of us Robby looks the happiest and the most content."  Take care and God Bless you.

It is hard to find the right words to ease our loved ones pain and sadness.I Cyndy, was at your wedding Joyce.  I know Rob had to be very special to you, because you are not the kind of person to settle.  Rob was loved by everyone in your family.  Everyone has a favorite and endearing story to tell about him.  He loved his three girls immensely!!!  It was very obvious.  Hold on to all of your wonderful memories.  It may be hard to smile right now, but over time you memories will be there for you and Rob will never really be lost to you.

Rob Doyle was a strong willed, witty, creative man. He was also my Daddy and all of these things he passed down to me. At times these common qualities caused some colorful yelling matches but I am thankful for them, they made me who I am.  From him I also developed a love of Italian food, rock n roll, and, most of all, a fanatic love of the New York Yankees. These are the things I will miss sharing with him the most. I find myself, almost daily, thinking I need to ask my dad if he saw this when there's a controversial baseball play or I bet Daddy would know the best way to do this when planning my next DIY project. He was a good man and a good dad. He was always willing and enthusiastic to lend a helping hand. He may have grumbled when I would come to him with big ideas for the next piece of furniture I wanted him to build for me, but he would always work with me to create the vision in my head, even if it was at his turtle pace. I'm thankful for those pieces that I will keep in my home for the rest of my life. They'll forever be a reminder of his love.

Although there were times that we were at odds with each other, I always knew he would be there for me when I needed him. He may have put on a tough guy act but underneath that he was nothing more than a big softy. He was a good-looking, talented, funny, kind man and he was my Daddy. I was blessed to have him and blessed with the qualities he instilled in me. I miss you more than you would believe, Dad. Give Grandma & Meme big hugs for me. Play a pick up ball game with Mickey Mantle & Joe DiMaggio and enjoy a ballpark cold one. Wish I were there to enjoy it with you.

I am so sorry about Robby, we all loved him so much.  He was so delightful to be around.  So helpful.  My deepest sympathy.

I remember I was new to AWANA's when I first came to FHCC.  Rob was the first one (besides Darin) to greet me and made me feel welcome.  A nice man.  It was nice to know him.  Blessings and peace to all of you!

Dear Joyce, Amanda and Ally

I was a very young carpenter foreman renovating Bose Housing at Tinker AFB in the early 80's.  Our company hired a fella and sent him to find me.  A sturdy lad, danglin a cigarette, worn out jeans and a gringy Yankee cap.  He became a part of a crew whose first, middle and last names are all emblazened into my heart and mind forever.   All in our 20's together.  Rob was part of the greatest football team to ever take the field in work boots.  He was my Quarterback.  The Loyalty you all have witnessed between us over all these years started out in that realm.  He viewed us as Kenny Stabler and Fred Biletnikoff and I was fine with it.  Rob took it upon himself to make sure I got to know his family....Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters.  And that I was always invited to meals, get togethers, ball games, whatever.   We just matched up.  We really shared similar lines in life both victory and pain, wins and losses, fortune and lack there of.  Always and ever confident that no matter.  God Almighty was in control and any other problems could all be solved by a sweet Yankee Victory.

When I left Midwest City, Rob and I were both raising young families, and all that entails.  I credit Rob and am grateful to him for sustaining our friendship over those years, for I fear I may have "dropped the ball."

Several years ago I came home from work filthy, worn out and genuinely spent.  Looking through the channels I happened upon the All Star Game being played in Yankee Stadium for the last time, and that the end of the season would in fact be the final game at Yankee Stadium.  The light went on, and I put in motion perhaps the most spontaneous event of my entire life!  I called Rob on my way to work in the morning and told him what we ought to do.  And in less than 10 hours we had TICKETS to the next to last game being played in the original Yankee Stadium.  "Thanks all to your mom I'm sure."  

That weekend was the Holy Grail of our days together. I enjoyed it like a farm boy in the Big City,  but Rob took it in like a neighborhood kid. He showed me his town, and I would never have went with anyone else!  It took most of the weekend, but I learned how to say "fa-getta-bout it" the correct way.

On August 13, 2007 my brother and his best friend were killed in an auto accident.  Both special needs kids, beloved by an entire world it seemed, gone in an instant.  Never before or since those weeks has my heart and soul grieved like that, until now.  I believe I've lost the only other brother I had.  

Be assured as in earlier sentences, Almighty God is still in control, and I am rejoicing in Robs victory today.  Proclaimed faith in the living person of Jesus Christ was clearly Robby's mission.

My favorite story these past weeks visiting with you all, was about the little girl at church looking for Rob to get a hug.  He brimmed with a smile as you told me about it.  It came as no surprise to me, the peace and gentleness of Christ resided in him.  He could have been three feet taller and 200 pounds bigger, she still would have come to get her hug.

                        I will greatly miss him!

Rob sure loved baseball! I will miss those talks with him. My prayers are with you Joyce and of course Amanda and Ally(gator). Know that your extended family is here for you when you need it.

I have so many fond memories of Rob! Being in the supper shuffle was so fun and I thought it was so cool how he loved to cook!  My prayers are with you, Joyce, and the girls!

Rob had such a kind heart.  He has always been there for me and Amy his sister. a couple of years ago when he knew my back wouldn't allow me to help Amy with her kitchen project, he drove to TX and laid our new tile kitchen floor,  Before that, he made the same trek to rescue me from an over-ambitious project of installing new French doors. Because of that, they work.  And just like me, he loved OU football.  We always shared our views of the upcoming seasons and because I live in TX now, he would keep me informed of who the next "hot player" coming up was going to be.  I remember more than a few of those calls  "this guy Adrian Peterson is going to blow people's minds" and "watch out for this kid named Sam Bradford from Putnam City. He will be the next starting QB".  And because he knew I am a nervous wreck during big games, I could always count on getting a text or phone call during the game telling me "they ain't nobody! Boomer!"  I'll miss not being able to share this season with him.  Especially since now he really does have inside knowledge of what will happen.   I'll miss you Rob. Thanks for being such a good friend to me and such a good brother to Amy.   (Boomer!)
