Arlene was born to Irvin and Mary Call on October 10, 1933. She grew up on a farm in West Layton with six sisters and one brother. She graduated from Davis High and attended Utah State University. For 59 years she has been the loving companion of Donald LeRoy Egbert. One of her greatest joys in life was being sealed to Don in the Salt Lake Temple in 2002.
For decades, Arlene played cards with various bridge groups. She thoroughly enjoyed her association with dear friends and was a talented card player. She was never boastful about her card playing gift, but we loved hearing about when "Grandma won all of the pennies.” Arlene was also a marvelous golfer.
For 46 years, Arlene worked with her husband, Don, as the secretary for his accounting business. We have fond memories of lunch dates, playing in their office garden and the little one playing under her feet as she worked the 10-key.
Over the years, Arlene attended hundreds of sporting events, school activities, and Sunday dinners. She offered support to others through cards, calls, and visits. Family was her greatest priority and truest joy. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived a testimony of unconditional love and gentleness.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Donald, two daughters, Jolynn (Lane, deceased) Boice and Karen (Glade) Butterfield, eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
