Barry was born on October 12, 1944, in County Durham, England, to Frederick Ernest Donaldson and Sarah Wilkinson Donaldson. He spent his formative years attending schools in both England and Singapore.
A successful magazine advertising salesman, Barry excelled in his career with dedication and ingenuity.
Barry's life was enriched by his beautiful wife, Vivian. Their journey together began in London, and the couple eventually married in Johannesburg, South Africa. They lived in Salisbury, Rhodesia (Zimbabwe), where they met Gregg Sheppard, a missionary, who became their lifelong friend. After sailing on the SS Canberra for a round-the-world cruise, they disembarked in Port Everglades, Florida, and eventually made it to Salt Lake City, Utah, a place they lovingly called home for the rest of their lives.
An enthusiast of steam locomotives and an avid traveler, Barry enjoyed exploring the world alongside his beloved wife, Vivian, visiting family and friends.
His deep commitment to his community was evident through his active participation as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He especially enjoyed studying family history and genealogy.
Barry is predeceased by his cherished wife, Vivian, his parents, Frederick and Sarah, and his beloved cat, Archie. He leaves behind his sister-in-law, Lynette Hale, his brother-in-law, Danny Hale, and several cousins who hold his memory dear.
