Beryl grew up in Logan, Utah in a large family of eight children. She graduated from Logan High in 1950 and went on to earn a degree at Utah State while paying her own way through school. After graduating in elementary education, Beryl taught school for many years in the Salt Lake City area. She married Alger Cornum in the Logan temple in 1957. After retiring from teaching, she enjoyed taking care of her home and looking after her grandchildren.
Beryl’s greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed family gatherings and outings with her sisters. She loved cooking for her family and made world famous peach pie. She loved her childhood and often reminisced about growing up in Logan in her large close-knit family and was very generous and giving to her family. In her later years, she spent countless hours scrapbooking and compiling treasured family photos and histories into volumes she passes along to her grandchildren. A lifelong and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Beryl has a strong testimony of the gospel and held many callings including working in the library and primary. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her family expresses deep gratitude for the compassionate care she received at Care Source, with special thanks to Tracy.
