Bonnie was born to parents, Jex and Grace Hiatt, in Payson, Utah, on March 29, 1951. She was the second of three children. Their family later relocated to Salt Lake City, where she attended East High School and graduated with the class of 1969.
Following High School, Bonnie attended Brigham Young University as a Dance Major to become a Ballet Teacher. While attending BYU, she met Rick Marston, and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 10, 1972. After marrying, they relocated to Seattle, Washington, where they lived for 2 years before returning to Utah finally settling in Sandy. They
are the parents of three children: Aaron Marston, Mindi Weber, and Tom Marston.
Bonnie was a lifelong, dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in many callings throughout the years, including the ward Primary and Relief Society Presidencies as well as the Stake Relief Society Presidency. Her exceptional sociability made her a friend to all.
As an avid seamstress, Bonnie crafted many beautiful dresses and nightgowns for her granddaughters. Notably, she created a Baptismal Dress that has been worn by all 10 granddaughters on the day of their Baptism. In addition to sewing, Bonnie had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and loved to go camping with her family to many of Utah’s beautiful state and national parks. Her love of the outdoors is also evident in her beautiful home
garden.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Jex and Grace Hiatt, and by her younger brother, Jex Lamoyne Hiatt, who passed away in 2022. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Rick Marston, sister Carolann Hiatt Kussee Gudjenova, children Aaron (Malece), Mindi (Matthew), Tom (Colleen), and 10 granddaughters: Audrey, Hannah, Emma, Ella, Haley, Allison, Natalie, Eden, Leah, and Nicole.
