Boyd Clark Reynolds was born May 22, 1944 to John (Jack) Milton Reynolds and Verda Davis Reynolds in Circleville, Utah. Boyd spent his early years in Circleville, Utah and loved every minute! There he loved to fish, hunt, and simply be surrounded by nature, often disappearing for hours with his dog Spot by his side. When he was about 8 years old he moved from Circleville to American Fork and spent the rest of his childhood there, attending American Fork High School.
He was a legendary fisherman, and his extraordinary skills with a line and pole were the envy of many friends and family members. Some of his favorite memories were catching cutthroat, rainbow, and brook trout from the shores of Strawberry reservoir, and Co-Op Creek, American Fork Canyon. He loved taking his children to help him hunt for “nightcrawlers” at Jack and Verda’s house the night before a big fishing trip.
He began working as a security guard at St. Mark’s hospital, and moved to the maintenance department the day after his daughter Shannon was born in 1980. Boyd loved taking her and Patric to tour the boiler room and visit with his good work friends. The majority of Boyd’s career was spent working in the maintenance department at St. Mark’s and he enjoyed the many friendships he developed there over the years. Boyd was proud of his career, but even more proud of his ability to retire in 2011. He spent his retirement in the home in Canyon Rim that he loved, reading, fishing, going to Wendover, and spending weekends for coffee at Beans and Brews. Some of Boyd’s greatest joys in life came through his children and two grandchildren, Libbie and Gus, who will miss him dearly.
Boyd is survived by his children Patric John Reynolds (Jennifer Ely); Shannon Kelene Reynolds (Gregory Smith); Timothy Michael Reynolds (Cali Reynolds); Sisters Shirly Turner and Shauna Bruun (Steve Bruun); two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents John Milton Reynolds and Verda Davis Reynolds; his brother Lynn Reynolds, his sister Ann Leetham and brother Joe Reynolds.
