Claudia grew up in Salt Lake City where she attended and graduated from Granite High School. She met Thomas P. Coyne while working at the telephone company. They were married in June 1955 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved family trips to Bear Lake and fishing at Strawberry Reservoir. She enjoyed bowling for over 30 years. She loved her chickens, vegetable garden, and plum trees. She especially enjoyed putting up raspberry jam. Claudia was a great cook and enjoyed baking and sharing desserts with her family. Her past times also included reading a good cookbook. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings, including Primary, Young Women's, and Relief Society. She also served 12 years in the Jordan River Temple baptistry.
Claudia is survived by her husband, Thomas Coyne, son Mark (Diane) Coyne, daughter Kim Whitehead, brother Steve (Lynn) Francom, 11 grandchildren , and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Diane Francom, and her daughter Terri Sellers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 11, 2021 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel. Viewing will be held at 10:00 am prior to funeral services.
