David LaMar Horman

Our wonderful Dave was called home May 21, 2017 after a short illness. He was born July 21, 1936 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Hospital to Phares and Adeline Coolbear Horman. He married Annetta Hairup Horman August 12, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple with President Harold B. Lee presiding.

He was the father of 4 children, Linda Chaston (Randy), Sharon Ramos (Juan), David R (Susan), and Russell L. (Love).He was the grandfather of 8, and the great- grandfather also of 8. He had a number of adopted children and grandchildren who also loved him dearly.

David served faithfully in all his endeavors. He graduated from the Salt Lake Community College and worked for many years for his family in the Horman Construction Company.

As a young man he served his country in the Utah National Guard for 6 years. He was also a volunteer fireman for the City of South Salt Lake where he celebrated his 20 year retirement.

Dave served in the church in the Boy Scout program where he earned his Eagle Award. He was responsible for the up-keep and security of the Kimball Ward building for many years.

He served a mission for the church in Colorado and also in Elberta Utah. He was serving a mission in the Temple Gardens when he suffered the accident which eventually took his life; he will be missed by many friends, family, and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at Kimball Ward 2300 South 300 East on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00AM. A viewing will be held there the previous evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM and prior to the funeral from 10:00AM to 11:00AM.

Dave will be buried at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, 3401 South Highland Drive following the service.
