Dean Payne

Our loving father Dean Payne passed away on May 7, 2018. He was born December 28, 1924 in Aurora, Utah to Conrad and DeLora Ogilvie Payne. He married Darline Dickinson on May 10, 1950 for time and all eternity in the Manti, Utah Temple. He had a passion for reading the scriptures. His family was his priority; we have many memories of him dropping everything to spend time with his children. He was a supportive husband and grandfather. He enjoyed chess, and was a champion in many contests. Preceded in death by wife Darline, son Warren Payne, by sister Guila (Smith) Washburn, brother Claire (Ruth), and sister Varna (James), brother Kent, sister-in-law Colleen Payne. Survived by daughter Janet Lauritzen (Arthur), and son Richard (Kyung-Ai), sister-in-law Helen Payne, brother Weldon Payne. Dean and Darline have 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Dean had a strong testimony of the restoration of the gospel as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. We love him dearly; he will be greatly missed. The family wishes to express special gratitude to Millcreek Hospice for exceptional care. Services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Nibley Park Ward, 2465 S. 800 E., Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewing from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Funeral at 11:00 a.m. Internment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
