Dianne Ruth Simister

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Dianne Ruth Christensen Simister passed away peacefully from natural causes on December 22, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Dianne was 84 years old.

Dianne was born March 23, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended East High School then went on to graduate from LDS Business College. She married Wayne Simister, the love of her life, on October 12, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple. First and foremost, Diane loved being a mother and homemaker with her family always coming first. Some of her favorite memories were of family trips to Yellowstone. Throughout her life Dianne enjoyed many hobbies and activities including roller skating, swimming, dancing, reading, bicycle riding, bird watching, embroidery, knitting, and huck toweling. In her later life she really enjoyed doing beautiful adult coloring pages. Dianne will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd S. and Ethel Norma Christensen. She is survived by her loving husband, R. Wayne Simister, her two sons Jeffrey (Connie) and James (Amber) Simister, her daughter Judy (Doug) Lamb, as well as 10 beloved grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her brother, Roger “Chris” Christensen, and her sister, Linda (Michael) House.

A celebration of Dianne’s life will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Capitol Hill chapel (413 North West Capitol Street, Salt Lake City, Utah) from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
