Donna Lenore Richards Busath of Salt Lake City passed away on March 31, 2022. She was born March 7, 1933 in Hartford, Connecticut to Rachel Jansson and Hyrum Young Richards. She married Don LaMar Busath in the Salt Lake Temple in 1951 and they raised five children in Salt Lake. In 1973, they opened Busath Photography on South Temple, and many of the family took turns working there.
Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many callings in the Wasatch Ward and Hillside Stake, and later in the 21st Ward and the Emigration Stake. She considered her service in those callings to be “prime time.”
She loved being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to plan and organize life around her - her home, her work and church life, and her travels around the world with Don.
Her favorite poem by Edna St. Vincent Millay was: My candle burns at both it’s ends. It will not last the night. But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends, it gives a lovely light! Her motto was: Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without!
She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in 1996 and served a mission with Don in 2000 to the Oakland, California Mission.
She is survived by her sister, Karin Richards Gunner of Sacramento, CA, her children David (Angel), Deanne Parry (Edwin), Drake Busath, (Elizabeth), Daniel Busath (Karen), and Dori Busath, and by 26 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, at 11 AM in the 21st Ward Chapel, 668 Second Ave, Salt Lake City, with visitation at 9 AM, followed by interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
