Gloria Jean Crawley

Our adoring wife, mother, mother-law, grandmother and great-grandmother departed this earth quietly on July 6th 2021 after succumbing to complications after a fall. Her time had finally come to be called home to join her beloved husband and her beloved first born son. Gloria was born September 23rd 1930 to Clifford Earl Bale and Emily Vera Jones in Pocatello, Idaho and later the family returned to their original hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah. Gloria attended South High School and attended the University of Utah. She met the love of her life, Dean Miller Crawley and they married on June 16th 1950. Together they had 3 children: son~Steven (Charlene) residing in Sandy, Utah, son~ Brent (Patricia) residing in Round Rock, Texas and daughter~ Cristine, residing in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Gloria was a feisty go getter who had the gift of gab and a liveliness likened to the energizer bunny. She was an avid reader and a lifelong learner; enjoying watching U of U sports and listening to the world news until her last breaths. In younger years, she spent winters on the ski slopes of Alta, summer months on the tennis courts at the Salt Lake Swimming and Tennis Club where she enjoyed playing doubles and teaming with her husband on the court. She enjoyed watching her eldest son, Steven and her daughter, Cristine on the swim-team, and watching Brent and Cristine on the tennis team. She also enjoyed joining her husband on the golf course. Her keen Bridge skills became her lifelong mind game as she outwitted even the sharpest of players well into her 80's. She had something comical, sarcastic, or outrageous to say about everything. But, nothing gave her as much pleasure as raising and watching her children's antics as they all inherited her curiosity and that rebelliousness with a smile.

As the years went on the first topics of conversation were always centered on how her family was doing. Gloria's 3 children blessed her with 6 joyful grandchildren: Son~ Steven and (Charlene)~ Taylor (Tiffany), Marshall (Kelley) Camille. Son Brent (Patricia) Alexis (Christopher), Michael and Caitlyn. 5 great-grandchildren Marshall (Kelley) Annalynn, Owen and Emmitt. Alexis (Christopher) Ethan and Elyse

Gloria is survived by her son, Brent and her daughter, Cristine. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, her husband and her first born son.

Family and Friends are invited to share in a tribute to honor her life. Gloria's viewing with graveside service to follow will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park at 3401 S.Highland Drive on Tuesday, July 13th at 2 pm.
