She attended school in Taft and graduated from Taft Junior College.
She married Milton Davis (later divorced). They lived in Taft, San Francisco and Salt Lake City. They had four children: Carrie, Shawn, Jody and Guy. She moved with the children from Utah to Taft, CA. They moved from Taft to Concord, CA. It was a struggle to find work, so they moved to Oildale, CA. where Mom found work. The family lived there for several years. Later, after the kids moved out, Mom moved to Utah where she was able to be with, and care for, her mother for 21 years.
She worked with Chevron Oil Company and Union Oil. She was a great secretary with exceptional skills at typing, 10 key and shorthand. She always focused on details. Later in life, she worked with Utah Non-Profit Housing as a receptionist, which she loved.
She was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served in many callings throughout her life.
As her children watched her work and oversee the home, they tried to lighten her load, so they learned to cook, iron, do housework and try not to be too much of a pain for her.
Mom has always been a hardworking, caring, loving and supportive mother. She would admit she wasn’t perfect. But, neither were we. Thanks Mom for your teachings and example. Thank you for always being there. We were blessed to have you. We are sorry you had to work in pain for so many years. Finally… no more pain. Glad to know you’ll be watching over us.
Preceded in death by her mother, father, two step-fathers, two brothers, daughter, grandson and granddaughter.
Survived by sons: Shawn (Kathy), Guy (Ginny), Jody (Cindy), brother: James Evans, 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
