Ira Hartman, age 95, passed February 28, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born in Vestaburg, Michigan, March 9, 1917 to Howard and Delilah Hartman. He graduated from Vestaburg High in 1935. He married Fawn Widdison February 22, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ira was a front line Medic in World War II, a Purple Heart recipient, and won four Bronze Stars while serving in the U.S. Army. Ira worked for thirty-three years with the Salt Lake City Health Department in Meat and Milk Inspection and later Housing. Ira loved his family, friends, fishing, hunting, and gardening with our dog Chris, coffee, and pancakes. Special thanks to the V. A. Nursing Home for all the love you gave our family.
Survived by his children, Steven D. Hartman, Thomas L. Hartman of Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Fawn W. Hartman and son Jack Hartman. Funeral services will Tuesday, March 5th at 2:00 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00 pm. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
