Jane Ann Waite Humpherys age 72 peacefully passed away in her home on July 28, 2018 surrounded by her 3 children and all of her grandchildren. She was born in Wausau, Wisconsin May 5, 1946 to Esther and Russell Waite.
She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She grew up in Wausau Wisconsin with her brother Jerry Waite. She graduated from Wausau Senior High school in 1964. She attended Rick’s College in Rexburg Idaho and earned her associate’s degree. There she met Teirre Humpherys and they were married in the Salt Lake City Temple August 10, 1967. Together they had three children, Shane, Amber, and Jamee. They later divorced in 1992.
Their children were primarily raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho. While living in Idaho, Jane served as an EMT and was the top of her class in graduation. She moved to Orem, Utah in 1992 and worked at the Marriott Center which she loved and met many friends. She moved to St. George Utah in 1998. There, she was employed as a hotel manager at Best Inn and Suites and spent several years managing Crystal Inn where she met several dear friends. Prior to her death, she worked at Dixie Regional hospital where she was “miss congeniality.” She made friends wherever she went and was beloved by all she came into contact with.
She enjoyed the blessings of being a temple worker and had an unwavering testimony of the gospel. She served multiple callings in her church such as Young Women’s president, Primary President and Relief Society President. She loved spending time with her family including her brother Jay and her dear cousin Dawn. She especially found going to the ocean with her family very edifying. Her greatest joy were her children and grandchildren. She loved to spend time with them at the ranch in Gray’s Lake Idaho. One of her favorite activities was going to Jackson Hole and riding the boat at Jenny’s lake. She was able to visit one last time just prior to her passing. She dedicated her life to enriching her family’s lives and teaching them the gospel. She was a beautiful example of patience, kindness, compassion and love. She possessed multiple talents and had an endearing personality that will be greatly missed. She loved to laugh and was always up for the next fun adventure.
