Jay loved spending his time riding motorcycles and fixing things. He could repair just about anything from a young age starting with his high chair and then to full engine repairs on his '68 Corvette. He had a love for the outdoors starting with fishing and hunting with his father. Family and friends were very important and he was always there for whatever was needed. His nieces and nephews loved the different cotton candy flavors that accompanied many holidays. He was a dedicated son and loved his mother Judy and his life partner Julie. His quiet can-do attitude will be missed by all.
Jay is survived by his partner Julie Mahler; daughter Stephanie Lucas; 2 grandchildren; mother Judy A. Lucas; siblings Kathy Greenfield (Kent), and Connie Close (Tom). He is preceded in death by his father Robert F. Lucas; and grandparents George and Bessie Lucas, and Ted and Marge Hofhine.
A funeral service will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, located at 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah, 84106, on December 5, 2025, starting at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, also located at 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah, 84106.
