Born May 14, 1945, to Herbert and Mildred Koenig in Salt Lake City.
She married Michael Leon Ruiz in August 1964. They later divorced.
Kay (Mama) was a loving, beautiful person who would help anyone. She loved spending time with her family, going to the cabin, visits with her grandkids and great grandkids, traveling and being a long-time member of the Soroptimist Organization. She also enjoyed going to the Shakespeare Festival and Hale Theatre, riding her horse, oil painting, playing Bingo and watching NFL FOOTBALL!
She worked for AT&T as a Communications Executive and after retirement from AT&T, worked part time for the UTA Trax Trains and was very proud to volunteer for the 2002 SLC Winter Olympics.
Kay is survived by her daughters, Wendy Ruiz Montano and Tracy Ruiz Palmer. Grandchildren, Anthony (deceased) (CeCe) Montano, Jordan (Sania) Montano, Cody (Emily) Palmer, Hollsie (Riley) Palmer Turner, 4 great grandchildren with 1 more on the way. Sisters, Dana (Jim) Stratton, Mitzi Moyeda, Jane (Al) Sieverts, Debbie (Wayne) Harrier and Patty Talcott.
We all love you and will miss you, mama. But we know you’ll be in our hearts until we see you again.
There will be a viewing at noon on Thursday, December 22, followed by services at one o’clock. Funeral services will be provided by Wasatch Lawn, 3401 S Highland Drive Salt Lake City, Utah
