Kent Antone Johnsen, born on February 10, 1954, in Heidelberg, Germany, passed away surrounded by family on December 20, 2025, at the age of 71. A resident of Plain City, Utah, Kent was known for being faithful, kind-hearted, intelligent, and thoughtful.
Kent served a two year mission in Japan for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He then attended Brigham Young University and furthered his education by obtaining a master's degree in finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
On July 5, 1983, Kent married Sandra Sue Phillips in the Salt Lake City Temple. Their marriage was a testament to his commitment and love, and together they built a family filled with warmth and affection.
Kent's personal interests included reading, dining at nice restaurants, enjoying family vacations, and serving as a temple worker. He was often found playing Legos with his grandchildren, and especially enjoyed playing Risk with family. Kent was also a Six Sigma Black Belt, one of the highest certifications in advanced business leadership. His highest honor however, was being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather; Kent took great pride in providing for his loved ones.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Sue Johnsen, and their children: Lauren Grace Martin (Brandon Martin), Shelley Louisa Jenkins (Brent Jenkins), and Matthew Kent Johnsen. He is also survived by his sister, Tauna Young, and his eight grandchildren, Emma, Eli, Juliet, Wallace, Archer, Louisa, Odin & Dane. He is preceded in death by his father Ferris Menard Johnsen and mother Lorna Luella Johnsen.
Kent's life was a testament to his thoughtful and reliable nature, leaving a lasting legacy for his family and friends.
