
Leo Wagner, our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Son, and Friend, passed away Mon. evening, Dec. 19, 2016, during heart surgery. He was born Aug. 15, 1931 to Sophie and Philipp Wagner in Wheatland, WY.
Leo is survived by his wife, Mary Ann. Children; Carol Wagner John, Mark Wagner, and Janet Wagner (boyfriend, John St. Lawrence). Grand Daughter; Candus Ford (husband, Troy Ford), An-g John Cunningham (husband, Adam Cunningham), Corey and Jaden St. Lawrence. Great grandchildren; Macoy and Quincy Cunningham. Leo is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 3 sisters, son-in-law, David John, and dog, Muffie. He was the youngest son of his family and the last to leave us.
Leo and Mary Ann married Oct. 17, 1958 in Pueblo, CO, they spent 58 years together. Leo's career was as a computer engineer at Remington Rand / Sperry Univac, he retired in 1987. He was a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Air Force from March 1951 - March 1955 during the Korean conflict and was awarded a national defense service medal and a good conduct medal.
Leo's passions were gardening, studying the Bible, learning Spanish, and making homemade ice cream. In earlier years, Leo and Mary Ann square danced weekly and went to conventions. He also made homemade wine from fruits grown in his own yard and spent many years building a cabin by hand in the Uintah Mountains. Leo was an avid exerciser; he jogged, walked, used the treadmill, and did calisthenics daily.
Leo loved the Lord and did a lot of work for the Church and other charitable work. He attended Our Saviors Lutheran Church till 1994, and attended Mount Tabor Lutheran Church from then on. Leo also loved doing volunteer work for Mosaic, handing out food to families in need.
Leo said he was at peace with his life and that he was good with God. He said he didn't think he would meet Jesus this time, but Leo will be honored to spend Christmas with Him.
A viewing will be held Wed. Dec. 28th at 10 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church on 175 S. 700 E. SLC, UT. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to one of Leo's favorite organizations, The Rescue Mission, The Salvation Army, the UT Heart Association , or a charity of your choice .
