

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Max Ellis Anderson peacefully passed away April 10, 2015 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born December 23, 1938 in Salina, Utah to Ellis R. and Madge Utley Anderson. He is the oldest of five children. He had a happy childhood growing up in Richfield, Utah where he loved to be outdoors hunting and fishing. He loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. He graduated from the University of Utah in Accounting and received a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Brigham Young University. He met and married Mary Eva Ludwig and they have had the joy of raising a family of six wonderful children who in turn blessed them with 23 grandchildren.
Max faithfully served in various callings in the LDS Church. He loved being in the temple. He and Mary enjoyed serving in the Family History Center as missionaries. Max was a master gardener and filled the “South 40” at his home with beautiful roses and day lilies. He was a member and Treasurer of the Utah Rose Society. Max was a gentle, humble, and kind husband, father, and grandfather and his entire family adored him and will miss him.
He is survived by his loving wife and children, Cori (Christian) Johnson, Kristine (Brian) Bradshaw, David (Kimberly) Anderson, Jeff (Keri) Anderson, Jennifer (Jason) Lance, Julie (Troy) Gabler and 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, sisters Sherry and Judy, and brother Ray. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marilee.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17 at 11:00 am at the East Millcreek 2nd Ward Chapel, 3750 S. Hillside Lane (2500 E). Viewing Thursday, April 16 from 6-8 pm at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 E. and at the church 9:30 – 10:30 am prior to the service. Interment will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park
