He was born on April 18, 1938, in Salt Lake City Utah, to Claude Henry Caldwell and LaRue Larsen Caldwell. He attended East and West High Schools and later married the love of his life, Delores Ann Kemp on February 24, 1961 in Carson City Nevada.
Michael was known for his infectious laugh, his quick wit and his unwavering love for his family. He was an outdoorsman at heart, someone who found peace in nature and who passed that love through simple meaningful moments with those he loved.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, carrying with him the values of honor, resilience and quiet strength throughout his life.
He never gave up on the people he cared about. He showed up with patience, humor and a heart that loved fully without conditions. He was a playful, steady and joyful presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren, always willing to make time, share a laugh or simply be there when it mattered most.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Delores Ann Caldwell; His siblings Nolan (Sherri) Caldwell, Lynda (Tom) Woodhead and Stan (Lea) Caldwell; His daughters Kim (Blane) Hadley and Debra (Travis) Wade; his grandchildren Megan (Harley) Lloyd, Alli (Jordan) Zufelt, Jack Wade and Brooke Wade and his great grandchildren Zayn and Tolvie Lloyd.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Caldwell and LaRue Solomon; his sister Claudia and son Shane.
Anyone who knew him, knew how deeply he loved them. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.
A viewing for Michael will be held Friday, July 18, 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT 84106, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
Michael will be laid to rest in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT 84106-3316.
