A New York-Italian, he loved his Buffalo Bills and his cigars. He loved spending Sunday afternoons in the yard with his dogs. He loved to cook and was known for his sauce, meatballs and buffalo wings. He was known to make appearances as Santa Claus.
Michael is remembered fondly as “Papa Mike” or “Coach Mike”. He volunteered his own time to coach youth football for twenty years and baseball for at least fifteen years. He coached football at both Taylorsville High School and Cottonwood High School. Mike worked at the airport for the better part of twenty years until his retirement in 2017. He was a single dad whose pride and joy were his sons, though he treated everyone as though they were family. He was a father figure to everybody; he had a lot of sons, whether those sons were his own or the kids he coached. He was a generous, selfless, giving person who would stretch to help anyone in need. He was a big part of our community and will be greatly missed.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Vito Fuoco. He is survived by his son, Vito Fuoco and Vito’s wife Heather, his adopted son, Aisea Hosea, Aisea’s wife Tatum and their two boys, Jason and Zion, and by Angel Homer, Michael’s younger sister.
Michael’s funeral will be held Saturday, February 10th at Wasatch Lawns Mortuary in the Cremation Garden at 11:30 a.m.
