Michael D Moore (88) was born July 28, 1936 to Edward W Moore and Claribel (Elsmore) and returned to his Heavenly Father May 28, 2025. He is survived by his wife Kathlyn (Kaye) A Moore (Kniss), his daughter Michelle Hood (Moore), and his son Troy Moore. B.J Moore was another son who passed December 2021. Mike and Kaye have 7 grandchildren. Michael grew up in the South-High area and went to high school there. He married Kathlyn A Moore in the Salt Lake Temple September 20, 1956. They started their lives together in the Wilson Ward area, during high school. They lived in various places in the Salt Lake Valley. Michael attended the University of Utah and won awards in track and field. His event was high hurdles. He worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Beehive clothing as a programmer. He was skilled at his job and became a supervisor and was liked by the people he worked with. Michael was well liked by many friends and loved by his family. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family at a cabin he owned, time at Lake Powell. He was very athletic and excelled in several sports such as golf, snowmobiling, tennis, and basketball. Michael was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ and served in two bishoprics.
The first viewing will be Monday, June 2nd at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and mortuary on 3401 Highland Dr., from 6-8 pm. There will also be a viewing on Tuesday, June 3rd at the Olympus Hills ward, 4176 S. Adonis Dr. (4160 S. & 3950 E) at 10:00 am. The funeral services will directly follow the viewing from 11:00-12:00.
The interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
