Michael John Nikols unexpectedly passed peacefully at home on December 2, 2023 at the age of 58. He was born April 7, 1965 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Michael will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, step-father, uncle, brother, God Father, Pappou, and friend. We rejoice knowing that he is in the presence and glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to invent, patent and market Tray-Tag. A successful food identifier system used by small and large corporations throughout the world. He was passionate as a successful restauranteur, General Manager, and Owner-Operator of the iconic Coachman's Dinner and Pancake House for over 40 years. He was a father figure and mentor to thousands of employees of Coachman’s over the many years of service he gave. Mike was a friend to all and loved his customers like family. Any person of need that came into the restaurant hungry without the means to pay, Mike would never send them away without making them a complete burger, fries and a drink. He was a most unselfish person in every sense of the word. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and talk about all aspects of what life had to offer. He loved the Lord with all his heart, all his soul and all his strength and loved his neighbor as himself. Coachman’s was a labor of love for him and the patrons were rewarded with his passion.
Preceded in death were his loving parents John and Mary Nikols. He is survived by his beautiful wife Angela who he sought his whole life to find, Step-son Ryan Grant (Kiana), Grandson Nathan, Step-son Cody Grant, and their fur baby Rocky. His brother Nick J Nikols (Denise), Diana J Nicholas (Jim), and Matthew J Nikols (Liz). Many nieces, nephews and so many precious friends that turned into hundreds.
