Niela O. Bennett

Our awesome Wife, Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma, Niela O. Bennett passed away unexpectedly on Monday Oct. 13, 2014. Niela was born to Jep and Barbara Oaks on April 30, 1944 in Medford, Oregon. She graduated from Highland High School. Niela was a person that could do anything and was good at everything. She retired from a well respected position as a Cancer Tumor Registrar at the VA Medical Center and later worked for the University of Utah. Niela left behind a legacy of hunting, camping, horseback riding, fishing and an all around love for the outdoors. In her later years, she will be remembered for her love of Great Danes and her unconditional love and caring for anyone she came in contact with. Preceded in death by her parents, first husband James Owen Ivie, and daughter Cynthia Stanbrough. She will be dearly missed by husband Jerry Bennett, son in law Richard Stanbrough, son Keith Bennett (Eilene), daughters Suzanne Burton (Mike) and Lynne Kelsch (Jason), 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, brother Rick Oaks and sister Christy Ricks. Graveside services will be held Monday Oct. 20,2014 at noon. Viewings will be held Sunday Oct 19, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm as well as Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 all at Wasatch Lawns Memorial on 3401 S. Highland Dr. Internment: Wasatch Lawns Cemetery.
