In the early evening hours of Sunday, September 10th, Nita Heaton passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Nita was dearly loved by all, but will especially be missed by her sons Jason (Julia) and Kasey (Susie), her grandchildren Alyssa, Emily, Colt, Jacob, Ryan, Sophia, Hannah, and Amelia and her sister Linda. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Rick, her parents Preston and Mildred and her sister Alecia.
Nita had a selfless heart often using her talents to meet the needs of others. She did this quietly and humbly never asking for anything in return. She served God, her Family, and Ward Members faithfully throughout her life.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she fulfilled many callings, including being a service missionary on Temple Square and the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City.
Nita was an avid gardener creating a beautiful yard and growing a garden for many to enjoy the fruits of her labor. She especially enjoyed growing pumpkins for her Grandchildren. Nita was an exceptional artist and excelled at creating oil paintings, water color paintings, and stained glass windows.
In the later years of her life, she faced the heart breaking and confusing illness of Alzheimer’s Disease. She will be missed by all that knew her. We are grateful for her exemplary life and that she is now at peace with her Heavenly Father and Eternal Family.
A family graveside service was held on Saturday September 16th at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
