Born December 12, 1933, in Salt Lake City to Frederick Leon Brown (d. 1947) and Martha Gredchen Deckart (d. 1973), Paul cherished his family, faith, work, and community.
Paul proudly served in the U.S. military and held many cherished memories of his time in Okinawa. After his service, he devoted more than thirty years to the classroom as a middle school science teacher. He loved education and took great joy in teaching kids—explaining how the world works and celebrating their curiosity.
At home, Paul tended his large garden and delighted in sharing the harvest with friends and neighbors. He was a hard worker who found happiness in serving others—from plowing snow around his church to clearing many neighbors’ driveways each winter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by all of his siblings—Fred, Helen, Elaine, Lyle, June, and Leon; and by his son, Bill. He is survived by his former wife, Valene Brown, and their children, Heidi, Pyper, Paul, and Ruby.
