Pete G. Mackris

1928-2010

Pete G. Mackris passed away December 19, 2010 in Salt Lake City. He was born August 2nd 1928 in Copperfield, Utah to Gust D. & Effie Theros Mackris. Graduated from Bingham High School. Served as staff Sgt. in U.S. Army, Veteran of Korean war. He retired from Kennecott Copper Company in 1984 after 39 years of service.

Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an excellent cook of Greek Cuisine, which he shared with family and friends. He enjoyed bowling, repairing autos, trips to Wendover and especially family gatherings. He enjoyed life and ‘life done him good’.

He is survived by wife Doris, sons Lynn (Annette), Michael (Meredith), stepdaughter Diane (George) Fullerton, stepson Charles Carpenter, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and brother James (Lil) Mackris. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Dimetri.

Services will be held at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church on Highland Drive, December 23, 2010 at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held on December 22, from 6 – 8 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Prayer service at 7:00 pm. Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 500 South 1342 East.
