

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took great pride in her family.
Rae was born February 10, 1940, in Richfield, Utah to Hamner Eldred and Faun Colby Smith. Together with her brother Steve, was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Rae graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City and went on to receive her Associate degree in Child Development. While living in Salt Lake City, Rae married Paul Grundvig and together they had four children. They later divorced. Rae then married John Dineen and together they had 1 child.
Rae had a wonderful childhood growing up and had many fond memories of her grandma Colby. Rae learned the value and timeliness of hard work, a trait that she carried with her throughout her entire life. Rae was a socially gifted person with a biting sarcastic sense of humor and loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved to crochet, needle point, craft, read and pet her kitties. Rae enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for her family.
Rae loved life and lived it to its fullest. Taking every opportunity to travel and be with those she loved.
Rae had a very close group of friends known as the “Copper Petunias” who she truly loved. They would gather weekly to play scrabble and visit. Mostly visit. Together they traveled to many places and loved to camp at Yuba Lake. The “Petunias” included Helga Meyer (deceased), Margot Todd (deceased), Dana Dineen, Jeannie Nelson, Kathy Parrish, Susan Jameson, and Linda Schooley.
She is survived by her sons Dave Dineen (Dana), James Dineen (Stephanie), daughter Linda Schooley (Mike) Stepdaughters Shawna Mullins (Kim), and Cindy Lloyd. 25 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great Brother Steve Smith (Connie)
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John Dineen, Sons Douglas Dineen, and Michael Dineen. Stepdaughter Sandy Dineen, Stepson George Dineen. Granddaughter Hali Smith and great granddaughter Sara Marie Dean.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 11th at 2:00 pm at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. 3401 South Highland Drive in Salt Lake City. Friends and family are welcome to come celebrate Rae’s life.
