1940-2012
Our dad passed away peacefully on August 20, 2012 after a long battle with chronic illness. He was born to Mike and Ruby Waters on January 25, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah, one of seven children. He enlisted in the Army Co. A, 8th Battle Group, Fort Ord, California in 1957. He worked in the printing business for 35 years. He loved boxing, fishing, traveling, and telling jokes. He raised many species of birds and could grow almost anything. His greatest passion was “Kermit” his 1945 Ford pickup; he worked on Kermit off and on for over 40 years. Our dad loved and lived his life by his own rules and left this mortal world the same way. He loved his children, family, and friends. Dad, we set you free with our hearts filled with great sorrow for our loss of you. We have always loved you and you will always be in our hearts and thoughts; rest in peace, dad. Our family wishes to extend our gratitude to the entire staff at the Magna Beehive House, hospice nurses and the aides for diligently and compassionately caring for our dad. He is survived by his eight children: Terisa (John) Miller, Annette (John) Davidson, Julie (John) Robertson, Richard (Donnette) Waters, Dandi (Dan) Mills, Scott (Jolene) Waters, Ronilea Wilcox, Kristal Waters; 20 grandchildren and four great grandchildren and siblings Jack, James, Denise, Judy, and Del Rae. He is preceded in death by his parents “Mike” and Ruby Waters and little sister Janice. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday, August 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services. You may leave your condolences at www.wasatchlawn.com
