

1941~2010
Roger Arden Oliphant, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Friday June 18, 2010.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 5th, 1941 to Arden and Lucile Oliphant. He lived most of his life in Salt Lake where he graduated from West High and the LDS Business College.
Roger married his sweetheart Diane Amundsen on June 23, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. Roger served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the New Zealand South Mission. He also served faithfully in many callings. He was generous, kind, loving and a friend to all.
Roger worked as an accountant and owned a successful tax and accounting practice for over forty years. He valued the relationship with all of his clients whom he viewed as friends. Roger’s greatest accomplishment was his family. He loved and adored his five children and their families. Attending their sporting events or dance recitals was an opportunity he never missed. He loved being with his family whether on the beach in California, fireworks in the cul-de-sac, or Sunday dinners at home. His family was his life.
Roger is survived by his wife Diane, children; Christian (Kaelynne), Ryan (Rebekah), Gregg (Ashley), Angie ( Derek), Heather (Rich), ten Grandchildren, sisters; Janice (Kent), Joyce (Dave), brother Lincoln (Donna) and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday June 26, 2010 @ 12:00 p.m. at the LDS Church at 6350 South Rodeo Lane (1540 East), Salt Lake City, Utah. Family and friends may call on Friday June 25, 2010 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary (3401 Highland Drive, SLC, UT.) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 10:30 -11:45 at the Church.
